Bio

I have lived on the southwest side of Chicago my entire life, but have been an Oak Lawn resident for the past 7 years with my husband and two children. I am a criminal defense attorney serving the Law Office of the Cook County Public Defender for the past 3 years. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies and Political Science from the University of Illinois and a Master’s Degree in Paralegal Studies from George Washington University. I recieved my Juris Doctor at the University of Illinois-Chicago (formerly The John Marshall Law School).

I am a member of the District 123 Educational Foundation, a Girl Scout Leader, and a founding member for Grandma’s Gamblers, a non-profit that provides books to children at Advocate Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn and Comer Children’s Hospital in Chicago.

My son’s kindergarten year was when the pandemic hit in 2020. We went through remote learning, hybrid-learning, masks, and this is the first year that has been as close to “normal” as possible. While each child is different, most parents I have spoken to have shared the same worries that their children fell behind and struggled not only with learning but also with social and emotional skills.

I am running for school board because my children are a product of pandemic teachings that have left educational gaps in their learning and overall well-being. I know most students currently in the district are experiencing similar struggles, and it is vital to their growth and development that we create educational programs and supports for their needs. Our children are the future and I intend to make sure that their time in School DIstrict 123 will filled with experiences and educational opportunities that prepare them to be tomorrow’s leaders.
